AEM Workhorse Heavy Duty Intakes
AEM Workhorse HD Diesel Intake Systems with a massive DRYFLOW air filter are designed for popular late-model Cummins, Duramax, and PowerStroke diesel engines as well as Heavy-Duty Big-Block trucks. Outperforming the standard 9" DRYFLOW filter in the Brute Force system, the Workhorse re-usable DRYFLOW filter features over twice the surface area of filter media and utilizes deep pleats to improve dust-holding capacity and increase the intervals between cleanings. It delivers maximum flow, filtration and durability for heavy-duty applications.
AEM's mechanical engineers emphasize tuning the resonance properties of the inlet pipe to help carry more air to the intake valves. Mandrel-bent, lightweight aircraft grade aluminum piping is used because plastic absorbs some of the sound energy manipulated to create the power and because mild steel is heavy and can rust. The plumbing is routed so that the filter draws air from the safest and coolest location, and provides a steel powder-coated heat shield to shroud the filter from engine heat and road dirt. Maximum flow is gained without sacrificing low-end torque.
